Welcome To GULF COAST MEAD FEST - April 27, 2019

CLASSES

10:45 am -Frascone Winery Tour- by Jim Frascone, owner of Frascone Winery
Jim will take a group on a behind the tasting room tour. See the production area and equipment used to produce Frascone's Wines and Mystik Oak's meads.

11:30 am -Round Table- A Mead Q&A for new and experianced mead makers to informally talk about mead making.

Lunch

1:00 am - Round Table- A Mead Q&A for new and experianced mead makers to informally talk about mead making.

Before the judging, we will cover the basics of judging and tasting mead.

2:00 pm -Competition Entries will be set-up in catagories of mead. Everyone over 21 is invited to taste the meads in each catagory and cast a vote for your favorite in each catagory. This makes the competition about what people like.

3:30ish - Best of Show Judged. After the main competition is tallied, Mead makers Jon Odom, Ron Bentley and Cameron Crane will judge the gold medal winners for a Best of Show. Previous winners of Gulf Coast Mead Fest are invited to join the Best of Show judging if they do not have any entries competing for Best of Show. The public is invited to gather around and listen to the judges comments and discussions.

Near 4:00 pm - Announce Winners of the Mead Competition. We would like a photo with all the winners.

About 4:00 pm Another Tour of Frascone Winery for those that missed the 10:45 am Tour.
